First please allow me to disclose to you that, although I have over 20 years experience with alternative medicine, I am not a doctor. I am more of a researcher/detective type who is in constant pursuit of the truth and finding out what causes serious illness. I firmly believe that if you truly want to be cured, you must find the underlying cause, which may or may not be obvious. Below is my story...

Who is Angel?

I am a retired teacher of 15 years who enjoyed a 23-year second career as vice president of investments for a major brokerage firm. Since my avocation is alternative medical research, this web site is maintained as a hobby.

My story begins in 1970 when I ate some bad food in Mexico. That one incident changed my life. Three doctors and one month later I was finally diagnosed with dysentery and placed on extremely strong antibiotics for a month. The potent antibiotics killed off all the bacteria in my body, good and bad alike, leaving my immune system wide open. I didn't know that one should always follow antibiotics with probiotics to replace the good bacteria that was lost. This simple, common sense and well known, alternative fact would have saved me a lifetime of misery... had I known.

For the next 20 years I suffered a myriad of problems all relating to that one episode. I developed a systemic candida infection soon after, that went undiagnosed for 20 years -- not for lack of trying. I must have seen a different doctor every year trying to find answers. I developed terrible allergies to heat, cold, preservatives, food colorings, and many foods. I must have taken 20 different prescription drugs to no avail. So when conventional medicine failed I tried the alternative route.

My biggest mistake was trying alternative medicine on my own.

I didn't know where to turn since, at that time, there were no alternative doctors in my area. I had no idea what I was doing and had little faith in allopathic doctors. So I read best selling books on health and nutrition and took highly touted supplements. Nothing worked. I almost gave up on alternative medicine completely until I went to a Homeopath referred by one of my clients. It was then that I discovered that almost everything I had done was wrong. For 20 years I read the wrong books, took the wrong kind of vitamins, and didn't recognize the most obvious of symptoms. Twenty years of wasted time and money, just because I was ignorant.

It took a real alternative doctor to set me straight. He spent 2 1/2 hours with me before deciding that I was toxic from taking all those medications and synthetic vitamins over the years. I saw him only once before he retired but it was a real education. He prescribed a homeopathic remedy to clean out my system which miraculously made my condition 20% better within three weeks. All from nothing more than a sugary powder that I placed under my tongue for three consecutive days. I can only guess what progress I could have made if he did not retire. Over the next five years I saw an alternative MD, a Chinese herbalist and an NAET specialist, each of whose treatments resulted in additional 20% cures.

Please Allow Me To Diverse

There is such a plethora of information on alternative medicine out there, that it's almost impossible to sort through all the hype and marketing gimmicks to find the few things that really work. I had done what most people do. I went to the drug store or health food store and bought the vitamins, minerals or herbs that my doctors and the literature recommended. What I didn't know and what my doctors did not tell me, is that anything I bought in a drug store was synthetic. Synthetic nutrients are not absorbed properly by the human body and can actually do more harm than good when the body stores them.

Items found in health food stores were also under suspicion because they are not regulated by the FDA and so there is no guarantee as to their ingredients, strength or purity. I thought that all vitamins were created equal so I bought the most inexpensive brand. What I later discovered is that many supplements found in health food stores are processed incorrectly and are, therefore, little better than useless... a complete waste of money, time and effort. And often there is absolutely no way to differentiate between quality supplements and junk. I cringe when I think of the thousands of dollars I must have wasted over a 20 year period on multi-vitamins, etc.

I also found out that doctors who use alternative medicine seriously, will always treat supplements like prescriptions, advising brand names, dosages and where to acquire them. Since the best products are often not found in stores or available to the public, some doctors distribute pharmaceutical grade supplements and homeopathics to simplify matters for their patients. However, most allopathic doctors just give the subject lip service to sound intelligent. This is good for business because, when it doesn't work, you will be back to them for something else and they won't have to revisit the issue. You will simply think that alternative medicine doesn't work and never be the wiser... an error in judgment that could someday prove fatal.

Although it's true that you may have to spend a little more to get the best substances, you save much money, time and aggravation in the long run by not wasting it on substances that don't work or worse, cause additional problems. So I began researching alternative medicines and nutritional substances and have put some of my results in the Product Guide section of this web site.

I have now come to the realization that, time and money aside, all my efforts to use alternative medicine on my own only hindered my progress. People can not treat themselves alternatively with any degree of success unless they really know what they're doing and/or work with an open minded professional who does. If you can find one who is well versed in complimentary medicine, all the better, but it's essential that you have access to certain tests that you can not get on your own, and that you have a physician who is willing to order them.

Since there are still not many alternative doctors in my area, I use an allopathic physician for diagnosis. I always get an in-depth understanding of my problem from him and hard copies of test results so I can research an alternative treatment instead of taking strong medications. In this way I have completely cured myself of cancer, H pylori, bursitis, calcium deposits, psoriasis, chronic sinus infection and the flu. I rarely get sick anymore. Since I retired from my second career in July 2009, I have started researching energy medicine and become a Pranic Healer... not for profit -- just for family. Quantum physics is quite interesting and energy healing really does work. Too bad I didn't find out about it years ago. It's a perfect compliment to both conventional and alternative medicine.

My Goal For This Web Site

Over the past several years, I have buried many of my clients -- some quite young. Clients I feel could or should have been saved... if they only knew. In my position I could not disseminate medical information without placing my firm in jeopardy. So this web site was born as the perfect tool to help those who want to take charge of their life, understand their illness and be involved in their own cure. It's for people who understand that good health is a do-it-yourself job.

I have tried to put this site together using an educational format. It's the place to go to find the truths on which to build your investigation. Hopefully it will save you precious time by pointing you in the right direction. It shouldn't take 20 years. You can read the right books, take the right vitamins, and see the right doctors. Everything on this site has been time tested, referred by a physician or summarized from a good alternative book or newsletter.
