A Simple Cure for Cold Sores - Herpes
When I read about the work of Dr. William Kaufman and started taking niacinamide, my overall health was dramatically transformed. I have since shared this information about niacinamide with dozens of others and everyone so far has been helped. I wanted to let other readers know just how powerful this information is.
For decades I suffered on and off with mouth ulcers or canker sores. At least every month or two I would develop these sores on my lips, on my tongue, or somewhere in my mouth. I tried lysine, red algae products, and dozens of others, and while some helped, nothing seemed to keep them from returning. Once I started the niacinamide, they stopped for good. It was like a miracle.
Now if I run across anyone with recurring mouth sores I tell them about niacinamide. I thought other readers could use the information also. At the first sign of a problem take 500 milligrams four times a day. It will not only stop the sores from forming but it will clear up an existing sore in two days.

Plantar's Warts Yield to Cinnamon Oil
My dear mother shared a remedy with me for a plantar's wart on the sole of my foot. I told her about my problem because I was starting to limp when it reached about the size of a quarter. She looked at me in disbelief and said "Don't you know you use oil of cloves for toothaches and oil of cinnamon for warts?"
Well, being about "ready to try anything," I went to my drugstore, where I was lucky. They had one old bottle on a back shelf for $1.98. I went home that evening and, after bathing, covered the wart with the cinnamon oil. The next evening I did the same procedure. After about three days, I carefully removed the top layer of dead tissue with a new sterile single-edge razor blade, then applied the oil of cinnamon again.
I followed this procedure for about two weeks and the plantar's wart was gone. There was no scar and it did not return. The oil must be the natural cinnamon oil, not the artificial kind that is used to scent candles.
Recently, my mailman was limping and shared that he had a plantar's wart on his foot that was driving him crazy. I told him about my mother's remedy and now his wart is gone. He said he had tried every kind of "over-the-counter" application and none of them had worked. I know that my general practitioner would think that I was crazy but I thought maybe this information would be able to help others who suffer. -- Janet D. Chatham, Illinois
Lovastatin Horror Story
When my father's doctor recommended that he take Lovastatin a few years ago to lower his cholesterol, we all thought it was a fine idea. Since his father had died at a young age from a heart attack, we wanted him to be extra sure to keep his cholesterol down. But after a few months on the medicine, he wasn't acting like himself. He often complained of having "no energy," and my mother said he was sitting around the house a lot more.
Luckily, I had heard about a condition called drug-induced nutrient depletion. This occurs when prescription medications leach important vitamins and minerals from your body. These depletions may be so severe that your good health can be threatened by the very prescriptions that are supposed to be making you better.
In my father's case, we found that the statin drug he was taking was robbing him of coenzyme Q10 -- possibly the most critical nutrient needed to sustain the heart, not to mention provide energy to the rest of the body. That's why so many patients, like my father, who use these types of drugs report a "running on empty" feeling. And nutrient depletion isn't just caused by statin drugs. Oral contraceptives, antacids, antibiotics, HRT, and many more can rob you of essential vitamins and minerals.
In fact, in the 34th annual survey of the top 200 drugs dispensed in the U.S., 11 of the top 20 drugs prescribed in 1998 showed potential nutrient depletions. This is a problem that affects millions of people! However, if you know about the dangers your medications might cause, you can watch for them and possibly fix any problems by supplementing with vitamins or through your diet.
In my father's case, he needed to take extra CoQ10 in supplement form, and after a few weeks, he started feeling like himself again. If it's so easy to fix the problem, then why aren't our doctors warning us? Many physicians aren't aware of the danger themselves, and the pharmaceutical companies (not too surprisingly) are very slow to inform them. Just thought this might be something your readers may be interested in knowing. -- A. Ross
