Behavior
Guidelines: Please
make sure your dog relieves itself in the woods and not on
trails and lawn areas or near inhabited spaces, such as the
gazebo, gardens and decks. You are expected to clean up
thoroughly after your dog when mistakes happen. We ask that
you do not leave your pet unattended inside your home and that
you please respect the desire of others for quiet and
unbothered enjoyment while visiting. Your dog must not bark
except in a watchdog capacity when strangers approach. Your
dog must not bother people by licking or jumping on them.
Your dog must not disturb or exhibit aggressive behavior
toward people and/or other dogs.
Do
not put food outside for your dog, as it will attract wild
animals. Your pet is permitted in your home only
when you are there. Your dog can roam freely on the 3-acres inside the invisible
fence during the day. He is also welcome inside our
dog friendly protected space and dog house at all times.
There is always a comfy crate and water bowl
in the protected area which is heated in winter and air
conditioned in summer.
Damage:
We
have zero tolerance for damage to property of any kind. We
expect that there will be absolutely no damage incurred by
you or your pet during your lease. We expect you and your
pet to treat your house as if it were your own and to leave
it clean, neat and undamaged upon moving out.
Do not bath or rinse off your dog inside the house.
Use a hose outside. Cover
the carpet where your dog lies and please watch out for
dirty paws after a rain or walking in the pond.
Information: Since there are miles of State Park to roam there is plenty of room for you to run and play with your dog. If you walk in the State Parks, your dog should be on a 6’ leash to avoid fine. That is one of the reasons we allow dogs off leash here on our property to experience the freedom they were born to enjoy. Expect other dogs to visit occasionally... all friendly.
These dogs will swim in the pond and have protective oils in their skin which cause odor if not bathed regularly or allowed to swim. It is unfair to ask these breeds not to swim in the pond. Furthermore, the pond is natural. Any dog who swims in it will take on the odor of the water, which is not what we want transferred to the brand new carriage house carpet. Sorry.
