Kill An American! - Posted in 2001 You probably missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American. So an Australian dentist wrote the following to let everyone know what an American is... More...
A time comes in your life when you finally get it... when, in the midst of all your fears and insanity, you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out - ENOUGH! Enough fighting and crying or struggling to hold on. And, like a child quieting down after a blind tantrum, your sobs begin to subside, you shudder once or twice, you blink back your tears and begin to... More...
Ben Stein's Confession - CBS Sunday Morning - Commentary I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened... I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are... Christmas trees. More...
Cosmic Occurrences that Affect Our Planet and Ourselves It has been hard not to notice the recent weather changes on our planet and wonder what might be causing this phenomenon. As I write this in January 2008 in PA, the temperature is 70 degrees. The mild weather this week has wrought an unusual out-of-season swarm of 23 tornadoes in the Midwest that destroyed many homes and killed two people. More...

Footprints in the Sand - by Mary Stevenson One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: One belonged to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said that once I decided to follow You, You'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
God / Allah Redefined - A challenge to terrorists around the world Throughout this article it is presumed that God is not a who or a what. There is no word in the English language to accurately describe God so, although we can talk about the concept of God, we can never really pinpoint a simple and concise definition. More...

Nobody
Knows It But Me
- by Patrick
O'Leary
There's a
place that I travel when I want to roam and nobody knows it but me. The roads
don't go there and the signs stay home -- and nobody knows it but me. It's far,
far away and way, way afar. It's over the moon and the sea. And
wherever you're going, that's wherever you are, and nobody knows it but me.
A child is born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He is brought up in another obscure village. He works in a carpenter shop until he is thirty, and then for three brief years is an itinerant preacher, proclaiming a message and living a life. He never writes a book. He never holds an office. He never raises an army. He never has a family of his own. More...
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less. We buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. More...
Pongo's Nose - This is a true story of a small miracle that happened in answer to a prayer It
was a sunny day in early November 2000. The woods
surrounding the house were losing their colorful
leaves. Crisp autumn freshness was in the air. There
were no bugs, flies or mosquitoes anywhere. Our 6 1/2
year old Dalmatian, Pongo, had died suddenly five
months earlier of an aneurysm. He was still missed and
continually in my heart and on my mind. More...
Trees I
think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree. A
tree whose hungry mouth is pressed against the earth's
sweet flowing breast; A
tree that looks at God all day and lifts her leafy
arms to pray; A
tree that may in Summer wear a nest of robins in her
hair; Upon
whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with
rain. Poems
are made by fools like me, but only God can make a
tree.

When You Thought I Wasn't Looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one. I saw you feed a stray cat and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals. I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life. More...
