Do you wake up at the same time every night -- around 3 am? And do you ever wonder why 3 am?
Well right around 3:00 a.m. is the active time for the liver meridian. The liver meridian is the channel or avenue of energy upon which the liver thrives according to the ancient tenets of acupuncture.
If you have a toxic, congested liver and kidneys, with perhaps a B vitamin deficiency or imbalance, your body will go into a little mini-crisis about 3:00 a.m. This may be in the form of a blood sugar drop, a stress signal sent to your adrenal glands which excites your nervous system, or a kidney reflex with the urge to urinate. In any case, it wakes you up.
You may want to consider treating your liver and normalizing your vitamin B intake. Step number one is to stop taking high-dose synthetic vitamin products. These may give you a rush of energy but this rush is usually an adrenal rush or a nervous system rush that the body goes through as it grapples with this abnormal and unusual concoction of chemicals.
Instead, use a B vitamin made from whole foods. According to Dr. Bruce West of Health Alert, "Cataplex G at a dose of nine daily with six at bedtime works best." He also suggests that during this time you begin to detoxify the liver by eating lots of fresh, raw, whole foods (especially cruciferous vegetables) and using a couple more products from Progressive Labs. He recommends Zymex (chewing nine wafers daily) and Livaplex (six daily). The average American toxic liver apparently takes at least six to nine months to recuperate.
Also bear in mind that just about every case of cancer starts in the liver and that the liver and the kidneys work hand in hand. When the liver is toxic, the kidneys carry a heavier load and vice versa. So detoxifying the liver will go a long way toward preventing cancer and maintaining healthy kidneys. Since both the kidneys and the liver are involved with blood pressure, this kind of therapy will also help with heart problems, hypertension, etc. It all makes perfect sense -- to your body.
